‘Headfoneshop’ is a small, high-end headphone store in the ground floor of a mixed-use tower in North York.

With the intention of creating a more intimate listening environment, the store was thought of more as a living room or a smoke lounge, where customers would feel comfortable enough to indulge in the listening experience. To accomplish this, light levels were lowered and the storage and display infrastructure was pushed entirely towards the perimeter, giving the space a deeper, calmer, more enveloping atmosphere. While warm smoked oak cabinetry tucks away boxes and other products, powder-coated metal panels clad the walls and ceilings to allow for the hanging of headphones, and increase the sense of enclosure.
