This reception desk serves the lobby of the Modern Wing of Toronto’s Drake Hotel.

Set amongst an eclectic lobby typical of a Drake property, this desk had to be strong enough to create a clear focal point, but simple enough to be part of a whole.

Oversized columns support a cascade of work and service counters.   Through the loose composition and the gently curved forms, deep, soft shadows lend the desk a strong sense of mass, and a complex movement revealed as guests travel around it.
